Introduction to Criminal Law
The aim:
1. Student acquires knowledge about the structure and systematics of criminal law.
2. Student becomes familiar with the provisions of the Penal Code and is able to find the appropriate provisions.
3. Student is able to solve basic legal problems related to criminal liability.
Acquired knowledge:
1. Student knows and understands the basic concepts and principles of criminal liability.
2. Student has knowledge of substantive and procedural criminal law.
Acquired skills:
1. Student is able to correctly interpret the provisions of the Penal Code and explain the principles of criminal liability.
2. Student has the ability to use the acquired knowledge to solve practical problems.
Acquired social skills:
1. Student understands the need for lifelong learning, recognizing self-education as a standard and condition for success on the labor market and achieving professional success.
2. Student is able to use knowledge and appropriately determine priorities for the implementation of a task specified by himself or others, with full awareness of legal regulations and ethical standards.
3. Student correctly identifies and resolves dilemmas related to the application of criminal law in practice.
4. Student is aware of the need to constantly deepen his knowledge and skills.

1. Sources of criminal law.
2. Principles of criminal liability.
3. Actus reus, The doctrine od mens rea.
4. Circumstances excluding criminal liability.
5. The purposes of punishment.
6. Penalties and punitive measures.
7. Characteristics of selected offenses.
