Objective:
Introductory course to the issues of subsidies and its control system chiefly within the European Union
The aim:
To provide basic knowledge of the notion of subsiedies (State Aid) in EU and other legal regimes
To provide general outline of EU State Aid control system and subsidies in oother legal orders
Acquired knowledge:
Student have knowledge of the definition of subsidy in various legal orders (chiefly EU State Aid)
Student have knowledge of the general Treaty rules governing State
Student have knowledge of the main instruments for compatibility assessment of the State Aid
Acquired skills:
Student is able to identify a State measure as a State Aid (subsidy)
Student is able to assess compatibility of a State measure with the Internal Market
Developed reflection:
Student understands relations between subsidy control system and overall competitiveness of the market and the society
Student is able to publicly presents his/her analysis of a State Aid problem
Assessment:
The final grade consists of: exam, term papers, class activity, student own work.
