1. Principles governing the division and the exercise of the competences in the EU;
2. Stages of the European integration process;
3. The European Council/Council of Ministers/Commission/Parliament: powers, composition, voting patterns, role in the overall institutional setup;
4. Sources of EU law: primary and secondary law;
5. Vertical/horizontal direct effect of directives.
