Course contents:
The threat posed by terrorism after 9/11 created conflict between public security and fundamental individual procedural rights. How to
solve this conflict? Does a person accused of supporting terrorism has the equal procedural rights as any accused person? The post
9/11 world has seen increased recourse to procedures that modify the traditional and typical hearing process. Is this a good direction?
How to counteract terrorism? Does counter-terrorism justify reducing the right to privacy or freedom of expression? All these
questions will be the subject of the debate during the course.
