Business Ethics and Corporate Social Responsibility

The aim:
1. Getting to know the problems and ethical dilemmas encountered by business entities.
2. Developing the ability to identify ethical challenges in the economic environment.
3. Understanding the growing importance of ethics in business practice.

Acquired knowledge:
1. Student characterizes the most important ethical standards in business activity.
2. Student indicates the need to apply and implement basic moral and ethical principles in business.
3. Student describes the processes taking place in the market economy and the ethical standards accompanying them.
4. Student indicates the principles of corporate social responsibility.
5. Student characterizes the scope of soft law and hard law.

Acquired skills:
1. Student uses basic concepts regarding ethical and moral principles in business activity.
2. Student indicates appropriate legal regulations and distinguishes them from ethical standards.
3. Student assesses the validity of implementing moral principles and ethical issues in the process of running a business.
4. Student identifies the basic problems of corporate social responsibility in the main sectors of the economy.
5. Student proposes a list of issues that can be included in corporate codes of ethics.

Acquired social skills:
1. Student draws conclusions regarding the factors determining the implementation proces principles of ethics in business activities.
2. Student formulates his or her own decisions regarding building an ethical company.
3. Student distinguishes unethical from ethical behavior in business activities and makes specific decisions on this basis.
